Boy, do we have some stellar specials for YOU this weekend! Chef Justin has outdone himself and revisited some classic holiday dishes. Live it up and beat the cold with a Roasted Cornish Game Hen plated with a healthy dose of Rice Pilaf and Seasonal Veggies. This dish runs the gamut of flavors and satisfies any hearty appetite. Pair your meal with a glass of sparkling Cranberry Rosehip Cider from Finnriver Cidery or a delightfully floral L’Ecole No. 41 Sémillon.
For those who crave some savory seafood, Chef will create a masterpiece for you: Pan-seared Salmon served over mouthwatering Baked Yams and locally-grown Fresh Veggies. The sweetness of the soft yams perfectly complements the tender salmon, leaving your taste buds singing. Match this dish with a glass of buttery Goose Ridge Chardonnay or a citrusy hop-bomb like Stone Brewing‘s classic India Pale Ale straight off the tap.
Also, we have news on the promo front: Fox and Bear Public House is embracing texting technology! Text “publican” to 90210 and become an honorary publican to gain access to unique offers and privileges at the pub. We’ll let you have first crack at any specials or events we’ve got going on! No spamming, scout’s honor.
Mark your calendars, friends! We are planning an Ugly Holiday Sweater/Solstice Party on Saturday, December 21st. Games, hideous garments, and beers aplenty will be the focus. Are you ready?
As part of the anticipation for this epic event, we are running an Ugly Holiday Sweater Contest! Want to participate? Send us a photo of your ugliest sweater (preferably with you in it!) through a private message on Facebook and we’ll add it to an official “Ugly Holiday Sweater” album. Then you and your friends can cast your votes by “Liking” the photo of what you believe to be the ugliest sweater. (Probably yours.)
On December 21st, we’ll tally up the “Likes” and the winner will receive a $50 gift certificate for Fox and Bear Public House. Strike a pose!
Lastly, we’d like to remind you to go support your local planetarium, the Bechtel National Planetarium at Columbia Basin College in Pasco. We will give out a FREE basket of our homemade chips to anyone with a ticket stub from the Bechtel Planetarium’s FREE showing of Apollo 13 this Saturday.
All of the planetarium’s public shows this weekend (12/6-12/7) are free, and they will be showing Apollo 13, also for free, at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow, 12/7. Doors will open at 5 p.m. In order to get a “stub” though, you will have to reserve and print your tickets online. (Go to www.columbiabasin.edu/planet, then click on “Purchase Tickets” in the blue menu on the right-hand side.)
People *can* try to get in the day-of, but they won’t get a stub, and the capacity is strictly 99 patrons, so hurry up, stargazers!
